Cecilia shares how the devastating news of her sister dying impacted her to her very core and how the loss of her sister affected every inch of her life. It came at a time when Cecilia’s career was at an all time high, and she shares what happened after as her life come crashing down.

Cecilia Pagkalinawan is a serial entrepreneur and is launching her 4th startup BRWN which is a storytelling platform for and by people of color. Previously, she ran ecommerce and digital marketing for brands such as Burberry, Frette and La Perla and consulted with private equity firms in creating value and growth for consumer brands. She was named one of “Silicon Alley Top 100 Internet Executives” by Silicon Alley Reporter, “NY Woman Entrepreneur of the Year” by NAWBO, received Burberry’s “Rising Star Award” and was named by Inc. Magazine as one of New York City’s top 4 content marketers and a “Supermarketer.” Her startup appLOUD was called “Awesome, Terrific and Priceless” by Mac Observer and StyleTrek was named by Entrepreneur Magazine as one of “Top 100 Brilliant Companies.” Cecilia resides in Brooklyn with her son Mateo and rescue dog Shorty.
